George Weyman, the inventor of Copenhagen moist snuff, and a very manly man, opened his tobacco shop in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1822 selling Copenhagen. In April 1845, Weyman 's tobacco shop was one of the few businesses to survive the great Pittsburgh Fire.
